Wind

Hi all,

exciting news!

Farts have been detected.

While the Ritcher scale readings are still to come through this is great news. I received an early morning text alerting me to this new development; I could not help but smile at excited tone running through it. Proving the old adage "Better out than in!".

I think it is safe to say that things will continue to progress along in this manner, I'm not sure how much detail you want to hear about the continuing progress of Sam's bowels. Perhaps it would be best to track his recovery via his current diet (of course if there is a strong out cry from the community for more detail I will ablige).

Sam's Current Diet:
Water
Soup (sieved)

It should not be underestimated how well Sam has come through this major surgery. And is a testament to his mental resolve and the care that he has been receiving. The general plan for the next couple of weeks is to let his body recover before heading back into radiotherapy. His body needs to heal completely as during the radiotherapy much of the bodies own healing processes will be disrupted.

As an aside, if you have any specific questions about Sam's health or condition let me know and I will post what I can.

Bye for now

Sarge

Hello Sarge, Sam and all the www audience. OUt here in the apendix of arabia, Qatar, time has been ticking on slowly towards my next holiday.

Mr Barnes. I and my bro and sister have been getting regular updates from ma and pa and are rooting for you. Kia kaha

After last seeing you guys for toffie pops and coffee I caught up with the Mahoney & Louise, Latimer and little Wilky. Sydney treated me well other than making Qatar look bad.

Have been compiling some photos and footage of Qatar to send back to entertain you so watch this space.

Later and Love

Greg

Hi Sarge, many many thanks for setting up this great method of communicating. It'll certainly ease the pressure on KnJ and keep Sam informed on the support he's getting fom far and wide. What a guy. Please tell Sam that Dodie and Ba are standing shoulder to shoulder with him (we really don't want to stand behind given the comments)but we're there, we love him and are looking forward to seeing him later in the year.

Hey Sarge,
Wicked Uncle Dicky here from London. One or two of the UK clan are struggling on the old IT. As their comments haven't immediately gone live, they've no doubt tried to "publish" them half a dozen times. So you've probably got a bit of a backlong ? I also noted one of my comments was published, and then disappeared, to be replaced by Jont's latest missive.
Let me know if we're causing a nuisance. You can email me on dick.sands@btopenworld.com

Hey Sarge,

Great idea- I'm sure Sam's many friends are relieved to be able to check on his progress without upsetting the nurses or interrupting his recovery.

It is both an honour and a priviledge to have made such swift aquaintance with the workings of Sam's digestion system. Tell Mr Barnes I think he is fortunate to have a friend who writes such compelling prose about the ins and outs of his...

Tell him I'm thinking of him a lot and will be in to see him as soon as he's up for visitors. It sounds like I'll have to get in line for that privilegde!

If you're looking for some 'over sieved soup chit chat' you can tell him I got a job at the Auckland Theatre Company. I live in constant hope that they don't find out that I don't know what the hell I'm doing. I start next Monday so am moving up this weekend. Will still be down in the Tron a lot and will keep check on him via this blog and through Kirsty and Gareth. Give him a hug for me- stiff manly pat on the back variety will suffice.
